I quit teaching in TX 2 years ago. They said they would call TEA on me and have a "black mark" on my record. I told them to do what they had to do. Teaching license still in tact.

FYI, if you did get it suspended, they don’t tell you, but you have to write a letter to TEA asking for it to be reinstated 🙄 -signed a a former teacher who hasn’t written her letter 3 years later.

I literally got a note from my doctor saying I was quitting for medical reasons (aka mental health reasons) to avoid potentially having my license revoked.

For my district in addition to taking your license they make you pay money back. Right now until the end of the school year it’s $5,000. Illinois finish my year and never return

This happened to me 10 years ago when I left teaching math in March to start working at a university. My assistant principal went to the board meeting behind my back to tell them not to release me when they had released others before. Joke was on them, didn’t need that license and they never actually submitted to the state to suspend mine. I believe she really thought the threat could make me stay. 😂

My school/district technically could've done this but I think they knew I was DONE with education 😂 they immediately pulled in the secretary to talk to me about COBRA and my last paycheck lmao
