My grandmas story is one of the main reasons I talk about true crime today. 🚨Here are a few things to remember: • my grandma served 2 years in prison and was then released. She has been living her life in the same town this took place in ever since. By the time I was born, she was babysitting me and helping me grow up. At that point, she had only been out of prison for a few years - I didn’t find out about what happened until I was 12 • I wasn’t alive when this crime took place. I have recurring dreams about my grandmas house because it’s the same house she lived in when the crime took place. She never moved, so I spent A LOT of my childhood there, and after learning about what happened, I will admit that it did spook me a little bit. (I was a kid) I’m not in control of my subconscious dreaming lol • me sharing my grandmas story in no way excuses what she did. The complexity of her case is what has intrigued me ever since I found out • by sharing my family’s story, I hope to let others know who have experienced the same thing that they are not alone • I wanted to be a different voice in this true crime space. I feel like I see so many creators sharing these stories, but they never truly understand how deeply it can impact the victims families. I wanted to change that, and it’s a hugeee reason why I wanted to co-host The Final Hours • if I seem like im talking about this too “nonchalantly”, it’s because I’ve had YEARS to process this information. It’s not like I’m numb to it, but I’ve just grown up with this big family secret and have had so much time to understand what happened. • lastly, this video is not to shame anyone in my family - I love my family. But in the same breath, this has also impacted me and how I grew up. I’m allowed to share it if I think it will help 💚 • If you guys want to know more, just let me know!! Please remember to be kind!! It’s always scary to share this info with new people who don’t know this crazy lore #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimetiktok #crimetoks #fyp
