What about dependencies? Wouldn’t that mean losing ability would cause a dependency meaning it would lose its ability before it affects the lands?

The fact that layers are treated like a 1 time effect that can’t be touched after because “it already happened” even tho it’s supposed to be ongoing feels kinda disingenuous. Like at that point just make it a one time effect

I understand the response is just that's how magic works, but it makes no sense to me that an ability would trigger after it has been removed. Like if the ability is gone then what exactly is making it happen?

I'm not gonna pretend like layers as a concept is wholly flawed, but it does feel a lil bs that you can play a card to negate an effect and just be told no because adding/removing abilities triggers after the ability itself, like wth is the point of being able to target that effect with a negate in the first place then?

This actually seems like a good argument for updating the rules. It's incredibly unintuitive to have something still be something "according to the rules" but completely defies what's said on the card.

That doesn’t make any sense because the creature no longer has any abilities and its previous ability was a static ability. When its static ability is gone then it’s gone. You’re saying the ability exists after death? What is this post mortem nen from hxh? I don’t understand this at all

what about mana produced? opponent plays enchantment that allows lands to produce any color mana. I them play Exotic Orchard and want to tap it for white mana.

I...don't think this is how this works. Reguardless of "layers" the creature doesn't have any abilities once the enchantment is placed on him. It's a completely different creature, so nothing is effecting the land.
