FND is just an umbrella term for a neurological condition that cannot be fully diagnosed because they haven’t a clue what causes it. For example Tourette’s syndrome falls under FND. They still have a lot to explore with the human brain.

For people wanting to learn more about Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), here are some basic facts that I’ve experienced or learned over the years after being diagnosed. 1: Think of the brain like a computer, FND is a software problem not a hardware problem. Like the brain switched from wifi to dial up & it takes forever to connect.
2: FND is often triggered by stress (physical, emotional, or social). In my own experience, I ignored my stress triggers for years (mental health? Bleh) & my brain was basically fed up with being ignored so it ‘turned off and turned back on again’ with all the wrong settings in a different language.
3: MS+ Parkinson’s + Allergic to stress + Stroke - Physical cause/damage = FND.
4: FND cannot be directly medically treated, what is treated is a) Mental illnesses that associate with FND (depression, anxiety, etc) b) Therapy to help with the cognitive process and identify how/what can help. c) Physical Therapy to help retrain your brain what “normal” functionality is. (Really hope I explained that correctly)
5: FND is an umbrella term for a neurological diagnosis because it is a mental not physical. The brain is still so unknown that a generic label is slapped on

I have this also, had a stroke at 37 and triggered FND, aura migraine. I've luckily so far not suffered seizures but I have movement and weakness issues in my left side and visual snow syndrome. Concentration and energy levels are really poor. I wish you all the best and hope symptoms eased for you.♥️

This is awful. I’m so so sorry. What do people make of the Yorkshire Housewife with FND? She’s got a huge following.

You came across my FYP for the first time. I could not understand until I read your bio and saw this video. I’m sorry. To be honest, you still smiling and laughing which I have so much respect for you. I was born with a heart defect. I know it’s not the same, but the docs have done all they can. I still have TIAs. Keep being you and thank you for your videos
