@cahdoria: 🚨Disney just signed a $1B deal with OpenAI, licensing 200+ Disney characters to generate AI video with Sora. Which means anyone will soon be able to flood the internet with AI-generated Disney slop. And this is terrible news. Why? As an AI ethicist, I believe this partnership will have a HORRIBLE impact on culture, creativity, and the planet. In this video, I explain 3 reasons why. But in short: 1. AI video is terrible for the planet.
Generative AI video consumes up to 2× more energy than AI text — and far more than traditional digital creation.
More AI video = more compute = more emissions. 2. It hurts creatives.
The artists, illustrators, animators, and storytellers who actually created these characters are being told they’re no longer needed. 3. It will flood our timelines with even more AI slop.
More low-quality content, more noise, less attention, and real harm to our brains and focus.
 This is HORRIBLE, and we should NOT accept it lightly.
