Nope. Not me. I shared a generic statement on Facebook saying I dont give permission for them to do that, so I should be good. My mom told me that made it super illegal for anyone to use my data for anything at all. 💪

and this is why I've only been giving out google voice numbers. The days of giving out our real cell number are gone y'all. This isn't the only way they can compromise you with ur cell number, this has been happening a lot longer than this. :(

This doesn’t break encryption, it exploits metadata (timing + delivery receipts). WhatsApp/Signal still leak activity patterns. HSIP avoids phone numbers, delivery receipts, and presence signals entirely, so this class of attack doesn’t work. HSIP is a free repo on GitHub too by the way

Everyone giving the fix: you should NOT have to block everyone who’s not a contact just to be safe from this. Many people need to receive messages from new numbers.
