@crmnallyobsessed: A clever scam allowed two men to walk out of a Rhode Island jewelry store with $3,500 worth of jewelry police say they didn't pay for. Providence Police say the two men walked into the Copacetic Rudely Elegant jewelry store on December 2, and discussed a purchase with the owner, Donald Beohner. According to Boehner, the man making the purchase used the Square payment app to finalize the sale. Meanwhile, Beohner said the second man started distracting him. "When they touched their phone, they were able to touch my phone and change the setting on it and make it so it looked like a cash sale rather than a credit card, but the approval came in just like it was a Square approval," Beohner said. Less than an hour after they were at Copacetic, surveillance video in front of Jade Jewelry, about ten minutes away, appears to show the same men entering the store. There, they tried to sell their stolen jewelry, but were turned away. At this moment, no arrests have been made in relation to the case. #truecrime
