I had the best review ever, "exceeds expectation" as a high performer. Still got laid off. Sometimes nothing can stop it nor can you expect it. Why would you get rid of a high performer? Makes no sense to me, but it is what it is.

I just got laid off after 7 months at a new company. they hired a new president and it was one of the first decisions he made. but there was no real reason given. just they wanted to redesign my part of the business. but then they backfilled my role with a man who has basically the same title. I don't really understand what happened can they even do that
