@godmotherofdiamonds: A 7 CARAT YELLOW PEAR BOUGHT 60 YEARS AGO FOR $10,000… NOW VALUED SEVERAL TIMES MORE THAN ITS ORIGINAL PRICE. THIS WHY NATURAL IS FAR MORE LUCRATIVE!💛💎 • • • • #yellow #gia #fyp #diamond #investment
Holding some value yes, but $10,000 60 years ago is the equivalent of $100,000-$110,000 today. So it’s still a depreciating asset.

I mean, ever since lab diamonds became available natural diamonds just are not the thing anymore. Lab diamonds are the EXACT same as composite and natural diamonds. The ONLY difference is 1 came from the ground and 1 was made in a lab. But the lab is 10 times cheaper but EXACTLY the same!! Why anyone would buy natural is beyond me.

Diamond is just a stone that has a made up value bc of good marketing. You can thank de beer company for that. The largest diamond co in the world.

If she had bought gold for $10000 60 years ago it would have been 1.2-1.3 million today . So I don’t think it was a great investment.

The moment a diamond leaves retail, it loses 30–70% of its price. This includes natural diamonds.

$10000 sixty years ago was a fortune. That’s like saying we bought a $100,000 dollar ring in today’s money. So if it’s worth $40000 actually isn’t such a great deal anymore.

So you mean the dealer who deals primarily in natural diamonds is telling people not to buy lab grown? Noooo, that can’t be

$10,000 from 60 years ago (around 1966) would have the equivalent buying power of roughly $100,000 to over $110,000 today. you got screwed

not an investment. 10 k put in stock 60 years ago would be 1/2 mil to be conservative

You wouldn’t GIVE HER 30k for it ! You’d give her $5k maybe if she cashed out. If you went to buy it …. Yes $40k 🤷🏼♀️

I disagree with you about the Fluorescent on diamonds ! Most of all famous diamonds on earth has a absolutely beautiful and unique Fluorescent. One example is The Hope Diamond’s red glow has long been considered a unique property of that stone. Most blue diamonds produce a bluish-white phosphorescence if exposed to ultraviolet light. The few other diamonds known to emit red phosphorescence were commonly assumed to have been from the even larger original stone from which the Hope was cut.
