@stereogum: Norman Cook aka @Fatboy Slim was DJing a mashup of his big beat hit “The Rockafeller Skank” with @The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” as far back as 1998, and this week he finally received the green light from ABKCO to release it. In a video last year Cook called it “possibly one of my greatest mashups,” adding “there’s ongoing negotiations with the Rolling Stones… Mick, if you’re watching this, call me and we can talk.” Now “Satisfaction Skank” is available on streaming and a 12” with b-side etching. Unfortunately the belated release comes alongside an AI music video. It includes generated footage of a shirtless, young Keith Richards as well as the still-unidentified Fat People’s Festival 1983 attendee from Fatboy Slim’s ‘You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby’ album cover in an “eating spaghetti” AI trope. The vinyl doesn’t ship until February, so for gifting purposes you could instead consider “Satisfaction” the smell, one of the Stones’ five very real “Subversive Scents” fragrances shipping in time for Christmas. #RollingStones #FatboySlim #mashup #fragrance #MickJagger
