how do you know when its okay to reach out to your therapist outside of sessions? i have her number and she always tells me its okay but i’ve never reached out because i don’t know what’s appropriate to reach out for

I asked my ex therapist to listen to a song that said everything I wanted to say but didn't have the words. he listened then turned and said "no wonder your so depressed. this is depressing music. stop listening to this stuff and find happy music".

I've only ever had 2 therapists I trust but they made more difference in my life than any other living being even though I don't remember the 2nd ones name the first ones name was Sue and she was a scuba diver and i remember she had me draw God and I remember how much that meant to me but never knew why it meant so much. the 2nd one switched to another company but she changed my life for a year and after she relocated I went downhill. I hope I find a third awesome one one day.
