@latimes: L.A. traffic is slightly better, but that may not be good news. New data show congestion dipped in 2025, knocking Los Angeles down a couple spots on the global traffic rankings. But experts say the change isn’t because of better roads or transit. Instead, remote work, high downtown office vacancies, and a still-struggling city core may be keeping cars off the road. Angelenos are still spending nearly four days a year stuck in traffic — and the economic cost remains in the billions. @tom spoke with reporter Terry Castleman to learn more.

I was shocked how bad traffic was when I visited Mexico City. It’s faster to get dropped off at the subway station and take the subway than it is to travel by car

It feels like traffic patterns are changing across the city as people move around and different areas become more or less popular. Some parts traffic is going up, some parts traffic is going down.

we need to replace more parking lots & garages in dtla with housing and amenities. it’s struggling bc we treat it like a playground & work space for suburbanites to commute to/from

Nah man traffic has somehow gotten even worse the last 5 years. It is now at all times except after 9pm and still grid lock after that!

Took me 3 hours last week to go from Torrance to Redlands which is 65 miles away. It’s not better 😑 I could have driven to San Diego in less time and that’s 150 miles away.
