@baristainpajamas: Want a better latte at home? Start with the basics and get them right. 1- Fresh beans make sweeter espresso. 2- Dial in your shot. Sour means under, bitter means over. Aim for a 1:2 ratio, like 18g in, 36g out, around 30 seconds. 3- Use cold milk and a cold jug for better control. 4- Keep milk under 140°F or 60°C to keep it sweet. 5- Spin the espresso before pouring for a smoother cup. Small fixes, big difference. #homebarista #lattearttutorial #coffee #latteart #baristatips
But, as I found out… too fresh is awful too😭 how long since roast would you recommend?

I just got this machine a week ago.. it’s brilliant except I keep going to brew and it goes for 3-4 seconds before stopping (sounds like pressure relief & no extraction). Currently on grind size 25, so I’m confused!

Why do people only talk about 18 gram double shots and never the amount for a single shot? Would you typically pull a double shot for a small 8oz latte?
