Here’s the thing. We’re talking about the college. We understand that’s different than the one in Paris. We need you to understand that the American school in America is pronounced the way we want it pronounced. Now, I didn’t go there, so it’s not technically mine to claim, but I’m pretty sure that’s what’s going on.

Saying the college needs to be pronounced like the cathedral is the same as saying all English speaking people need to call Paris "Paree" with the 'r' in the back of the throat...

I think of the US university and the fighting Irish first and foremost. We are going to pronounce it the way we want. If you are talking about the church in France we are going say it more like the French. It’s the same way we’d say Rodeo Drive one way and say going to the rodeo in Houston another way.

Oh my goodness - I had no idea I did this. But I do! The cathedral in Paris is Notre Dame and the school in Indiana is Noter Dame. Guilty!

I go so far back that, as a kid, I only heard those words with "The Hunchback of" preceding them...and I didn’t know how in the heck to pronounce the last 2 words at all. 🤣🤣🤣
