I have a theory, I think the idea of Jax having a younger sister makes a lot of sense, especially since he acts like a classic older brother by constantly teasing the girls in the Circus. But here’s the really exciting part, what if his younger sister is Ribbit? In the flashbacks there's a big house, suggesting he had a real-life family, and while some think he might have a daughter (which is not a theory that can be dismissed) his behavior and age make a younger sibling seem more plausible. The key is the name "Jane" that appears near him in one scene, perhaps when he is in his room, and I believe Jane is Ribbit’s real name. This would explain the emotional flashback scene where Jax is looking at a photo and having a reaction—maybe he was looking at a photo of his sister, Jane/Ribbit! My theory for how they entered the Circus is that she was sucked in first, and he went in after her, trying to save her. Maybe he arrived "too late," which is why he was so distressed. Also, when Zooble asks if he has anyone waiting for him outside, his surprised expression could be because his sister, the only person waiting, is right there with him in the Circus as Ribbit!
