Cream the butter In a large bowl, add the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix with a spatula or hand mixer until smooth and creamy. 2. Add the egg white Mix in the egg white. The mixture may look slightly lumpy at this stage—this is normal and will smooth out once the dry ingredients are added. 3. Incorporate dry ingredients Gradually add the flour (little-by-little) along with a small pinch of salt, mixing until a thick, smooth dough forms. The dough should be firm enough to hold its shape so it won’t spread excessively when baked. 4. Color the dough Add 1–2 drops of green food coloring to the dough and mix until evenly colored. 5. Prepare the tree trunks Remove about 2–3 tablespoons of dough and mix in the cocoa powder until fully combined and brown. 6. Shape the cookies * Recommended method: Use a cookie press fitted with a tree-style to form the cookies directly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Piping method: * Transfer the green dough to a sturdy piping bag fitted with a 1M star tip. * Transfer the brown dough to a separate piping bag fitted with a small star tip. * Pipe a small brown tree trunk first, then pipe the green dough above it in a zig-zag motion to create a tree shape. * Repeat with remaining dough. * Tip: Use a strong piping bag to prevent bursting. 7. Chill the cookies Place the baking tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. This helps the cookies keep their shape during baking. 8. Bake Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cookies for 12–15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden. Baking time may vary depending on cookie size and oven. 9.
