I’ve been here since season one. I grew up with Deku and with the magnificent development of every character, Bakugou above all. People who randomly dismiss it as “for kids” are finally starting to reconsider, and their numbers are decreasing, but I can only feel compassion for the poverty of their spirit.
This anime is full of symbolism, parallels, and important meanings, with deep characterization for every single character, each one carrying their own significance. Even every fight has a deeper meaning, like the incredible parallel story of Shigaraki and Deku, or the relationship between Ochaco and Toga. Not to mention how Deku became a role model for the child Kota, who didn’t believe in any hero, and whom we see in season six wearing red shoes like Deku’s, because Deku became his All Might. It’s the story of how one becomes the greatest hero.
In the latest season, we arguably get the most beautiful and important scene in the entire anime: All Might officially consecrating Deku as the greatest hero. But Deku had already been one from the very beginning, because he had more courage than anyone else despite having no powers, and because he was genuinely pure of heart. And that is what a true hero is.
A work with IMMENSE meaning. Only those who are emotionally shallow or blinded by prejudice can belittle it or call it a kids’ show. Now it’s our turn to speak.
GO BEYOND. 🐐❤️
