almost correct but it may help you re open your hetas books and revise solid wood burners ! 1st cold air is heavier , but we don't displace. it we intend to hear the flue. . 2ed on start up you need to have bottom air intake and it needs a lot of air. ... 3ed icold air contains more oxygen so you dont open top air intake to preheat air as it will displace the oxygen so just bottom air intake on max 3ed the condensation present on the door is showing you luck of fresh air 4rh wood doesn't burn, wood dissolves to ash and releases fumes the need high temperature and oxygen to burn 5th beautiful wood burner you have there

Just light the stove. leave door open an inch and open a window in the room it's genuinely not rocket science 🤝

its a sealed unit your never meant to open the door only when your loading logs into it and close again straight away open the damper on it and that will keep the glass clear

Good stuff! Question, when adding wood often smoke comes into the room even if I crack the door beforehand and open the valve in the flue fully open. its a 2mtr steel flue going into a brick 6meter chimney. tips? needs to heat for longer before adding wood?

its not cold air coming down. its the temperature difference of warm moist air hitting the cold glass. a cold glass gets condensation on the outside as the warm air condenses on the cold glass

We have a small hairdryer we blast up the flue before lighting the fire. Works 100% of the time. (We have no chimney - our flue goes up the outside of the gable end of our house)

Hydraulic oil and wood chip mix is the quickest way to heat it up that is for sure 👌🛠

And you're also trying to heat the flue to allow suction so hot air will pass a cold surface.
