We were there today. There is a hidden room where Michelangelo sketched on the walls. It’s pretty amazing to see. You have to book tickets well in advance to see it. The guide today (December 17th) told us if you booked it today, the earliest you can get tickets is February. It’s worth it.

I live near Firenze and though it’s not actually hidden or too out of the way, I agree it’s definitely not on the heavily frequented tourist list. I just went here the first time after many visits to the city and not because I don’t research or know history (previous comments). It’s so beautiful and not crowded at all. The museum below is also cool. Highly recommend!
