@drcsigg: Waking up drenched in sweat at 3am means your nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight while you're trying to sleep. Your hypothalamus (your brain's temperature control center) becomes hypersensitive to even tiny estrogen fluctuations during perimenopause. When estrogen drops suddenly, it triggers your sympathetic nervous system. The same response as if you were being chased. You're not just hot. You're in a full stress response. And when this happens night after night, your body never gets into parasympathetic mode (the rest and repair state you desperately need). Chronic sleep disruption keeps cortisol elevated. High cortisol suppresses progesterone. Low progesterone makes sleep worse. The cycle compounds. This is why I always start with nervous system regulation. You can't balance hormones if your body thinks it's under threat every night. When we calm the nervous system first, the night sweats often resolve before we even directly address hormones. Because we're treating the signal, not just the symptom.🫶🏻 #perimenopausesymptoms #nervoussystemregulation #denvercolorado
Needed to hear this, have had multiple blood tests always normal and thought this was the main sign of cancer. This relived that a bit

You should try 100% organic lyocell sheets. They keep you cool all night. I get mines from Verleu.com

This explains why I wake up terrified I’m on fire and don’t fully wake until I’m in the bathroom, hyperventilating, not sure why I had such an overreaction to being hot and sweaty

So how do you regulate your nervous system? This sounds identical to what I’m experiencing. Night sweats where the entire bed, blankets and myself are drenched in sweat. It’s like I just got out of a swimming pool and flipped in my bed under the blankets.

The Bed Sweater :
Hi Dr. Christine, I got so fed up waking up in soaking wet sheets for years on end that I created a product that didn’t exist on the market. It’s a super absorbent layer that discreetly soaks up the sweat while you sleep. I have a video on my page demoing the product. I think it could be a big help for your patients while they work on getting to the root cause of the problem.

Im 35 this year and have had severe night sweats and fatigue for over 7 years. All my bloods are normal. Diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia because they can't determine the cause of my debilitating fatigue. I still work a full time job but secretly microsleep multiple times a day. I can sleep standing up or sitting down. I have to change my pjs 2-3 times a night because i could wrinf them out they are so wet. I cant even sleep between the sheets with my husband because stripping the bed every single day just isnt possible. I sleep in between a mink blanket folded in half, with other blankets on top. I dont sweat during the day and im not "hot" at night. Im quite cold actually so sweating makes me freezing. Its so scary but no one cares to do anything past the normal blood tests :(
