@warpathministries: People love to weaponize Jesus’ words: “Go and sin no more.” They quote it like a stone, aiming it at broken people— while completely ignoring the fact that Jesus first shut down the stone-throwers who sounded exactly like them. In John 8, Jesus didn’t side with the accusers. He humbled them. He exposed their hypocrisy. He made them drop their stones and walk away. Then—and only then—He turned to the woman and said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.” That wasn’t a call to perfection. That was a call to leave a life of bondage. Because Scripture is painfully clear: If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and make God a liar (1 John 1:8–10). James says we all stumble in many ways and commands believers to confess their sins to one another—not because we’re sinless, but because we’re still being sanctified (James 3:2; 5:16). Even Elijah, one of the greatest prophets, was as human as we are (James 5:17). Paul openly admitted he had not reached perfection (Philippians 3:12). Peter needed public correction. David needed repentance. None of them were perfect—and God still used them. And here’s where people really get it wrong. “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT) That verse doesn’t say we became sinless. It says Christ became sin for us. When you demand perfection from people Christ already died for, you’re not protecting holiness— you’re ripping Jesus off the cross and nailing humanity back onto it. Jesus didn’t die so we could pretend we don’t struggle. He died because we do. He didn’t throw stones. He threw grace. He didn’t deny sin’s seriousness— He paid for it in full.
