@aero.virals: They just brought a MiG-15 back to life after sitting silent for twenty years. The engine inside is the Klimov RD-45, a Soviet-built copy of the Rolls-Royce Nene, pushing around 22 kilonewtons of thrust. It’s a pure turbojet, single-spool centrifugal compressor, no bypass, no hush kit, just raw noise straight out of the tail. Back in 1947 this jet flipped the rules of the game. With 35 degree swept wings and a nose intake feeding the engine directly it could hit speeds over a thousand kilometers per hour and climb like nothing else of its era. In Korea it showed the world that piston fighters were finished and jets had officially taken over. Hearing that engine spool up again after two decades isn’t just maintenance. It feels like aviation history is shaking off the dust and reminding us what the birth of the jet age really sounded like. #mig15 #RD45 #turbojet #jetnoise #coldwarjets #fighterjet #aviationhistory #WarbirdRestoration #jetpower #AvGeek video credits: marchman_cz
