Whenever I’m in a social setting, I notice EVERYTHING and it drives me insane

i feel like when i’m with other people, i am performing. i am not me, i am someone i had to be in order to survive. and whenever i’m with them, i tend to calculate their actions, words, and decisions, and how it would affect their relationship with me. i feel like a horrible person inside whenever i do that, but i cant stop it for some reason. it felt like a mechanism to protect myself.
