Retired Police Dispatcher here! The homeless community knows everyone and everything that takes place. Reach out to all the encampments and offer a reward. He’s either been taken in by them and is part of their group or he did manage to catch transportation somewhere. Rewards in the homeless community are huge!

My 58 year old friend wandered off like this and he stayed in a park. I found him there with nothing but the clothes on his back. He was gone for 3 months. I hope you find your dad.

Sounds like he may have been having a medical episode before the accident/that led to the accident. Maybe a brain tumor? Those can cause sudden confusion, gait changes, decision making etc. Praying he is found safe!

As a longtime watcher of Dateline & 48hrs I’d suggest asking people to check their garages & cars. We had a senior leave a facility and fall asleep in an unlocked car.

Going to the homeless community may help you more than you think. Offer them money, food, etc. Maybe take food to give them and talk to them and offer reward money if one of them can help lead you to your dad. I sincerely hope your dad is ok. Something tells me he had some kind of medical condition that caused this to happen. I really hope it just caused memory issues and nothing else and you find him very soon....safe! ❤️

This probably didn’t happen, but is there a chance that he was picked up by ICE? I just know that they’ve had a large presence throughout the Chicago area and if he speaks another language, they may have detained him if he spoke non-English to them. They also might not communicate with local law enforcement.
