I was told not to take Ibuprofen while having cirrhosis. Btw what kind of food are you allowed to eat? I have to eat low sodium now.

Yes my mom had to drink that too. She hated it. She wouldn’t take it sometimes and the toxins would build up and mess with her brain and she would have really bad episodes. My mom only lasted 9 months after being diagnosed with liver cancer (that my sisters and I were aware of) followed by cirrhosis. What she went through was horrible. I stopped drinking after everything she went through during those horrific 9 months. People say they would die for their babies. I learned theirs a whole new meaning to that phrase, I would not die do my adult children!! Please take care of your self, it’s truly not worth it…

Rifaximin is really good at reducing ammonia and the vast majority stays within the digestive track. It's on the red list in the UK due to price but a hepatologist can perscribe, it's easier to manage than lactose as there are no side effects.

I’ve been on lactulose for 5 days now!!!!! Doc prescribed it and Jesus it sucks but it’s a life saver! 💪 Choosing life and staying sober forever now! My jaundice is going away and my hives almost gone 👌 god is good
