Psychology student here, i've seen many cases where this leads to depression. It’s very important to mention that depression is much more complex than “thinking negatively” and telling that to people with clinical depression might be harmful. It’s not only about negative thinking and has complex parts like genetics and biological factors. Just telling people to “think positively” isn’t always the solution. You have to heal the right way. I will tell you something about myself. I thought I was the only one.... I loved him so much but every time he would leave me it would spin me into an episode and I felt like I was going crazy and if I look back I literally was crazy I would cry and cry and hurt myself and use other men because I was so broken and completely impulsive and just do wild things. I don’t miss it. But I do miss him, still… Yet i made vow that i will change myself because its the right thing to do even if its not easiest one. But the greatest decisions requires strongest will, right? I promised to become a better version of myself. im willing to wait for my future lover, so that when he finally meets me, he meets the best version of who i can be — someone who can give him and myself, everything we deserve. Im strongly suggesting to everyone to pick up a book called “Healing Isn’t Pretty” by Mira Hartson asap, it literally changed my life so fast i can’t even explain it.
