Got 502 in 2016, GPA 3.8, was told not to apply by everyone including advisors, I did anyways, went to my state MD school, did really well, went to top 10 IM residency and now a year left of GI fellowship.

girl i got a 500, didn’t retake it, applied to one MD school and got in! i’m starting in August! a 507 is a great score!! i don’t think one silly standardized test proves how good of a doctor you will be in the future 🤷🏼♀️

Sitting on admissions committee meetings, MCAT is a single factor in a much bigger picture! Like obvi the score does matter to a degree but it is not nearly as important as your clinical and leadership experience, research, community service, etc!

I also got a 507 after giving it everything I had. I took another year and changed my approach and scored a 519. There’s nothing wrong with retakes, in fact med schools look at them positively if you can grow.

I’m so old lol. I got a 29 when 30 was the score to get. 3.78 GPA. Went to UMass, got in first try, Harvard Gen Surg and vascular fellowship and now Harvard surgeon. It doesn’t matter. We need to find smart good people, not JUST smart…

GIRL ONE THING TO NEVER DO IS LISTEN TO ANYONE ON REDDIT. I went downhillll after going through Reddit cause somehow everyone and their mother has a 515+. A 507 is great and you worked hard asf! You’re gonna be an awesome doctor. ❤️

I got 507 score in 2021, got a 266 on step 2 this past July, and now interviewing for my dream residency! the mcat was in no way similar or predictive of how I would do in med school, you’re killing it queen!!!
