Thank you brother. We love an educated brother over here! Much appreciated it. Ps. About the Somalis saying not black. We have a lot of identity issues when it comes to that term for many reasons. But the biggest reason being we came from a country with only black people in a continent with only black people. So saying black was never a thing. We, Africans, in general just say our ethnic group and that is it. It was never necessary to identify as black. This is coming from an educated woman who has been in the United States for 28 years. Although I, plus, most Somalis living in the west now have adapted to and adopted the term black. We need grace and understanding. This is just what’s on the surface. If people really need to know the details, they should do more research. Also, we love our African American/black American brothers and sisters. Out of all of the black immigrants in Minnesota, we were the ONLY ones protesting for George Floyd alongside our brothers and sisters.
