I never had an elevator. The climb was the hard part as a cell tower technician. The little guys got to squeeze past the booms, I got to climb out. I was only like 190lbs at the time and still pretty lanky. As someone who can't walk next to the rail on a second story at the mall, it's actually not scary when you have all that safety gear. First thing I did to help ease what little anxiety I did was hook my grillin off(it's like a 3-5ft hoist in the middle of your harness) and lean out in a lap of faith style. most freeing experience of my life. And to be clear both of my safety lines were hooked up also(required by law) so it would need three points of complete failure before you could go down.
