@skulloljorv: stanzen_tashi Sand mandala being made by Buddhist monks. In ancient time the monks will collect pure white rocks from the mountains up in the valley, crush it in fine sands and mix with dry colours. There are exact blueprints for each mandala of a meditional diety which the monks will draw and fill with ornate colours creating symbols of tantric deities. After seven days of painstakingly creating the mandala, praying and meditating on it, finally the mandala will be wiped out and put in a stream, river, lake or the sea to signify impermanence. #buddhism #buddhist #buddhistritual #mandala #peace
