Unlike many Housing Developments, where Street Names are decided without meaningful participation from the People who will actually live there, WE HAVE DECIDED TO DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY! OUR RESIDENTS WILL HAVE A DIRECT SAY IN NAMING THEIR OWN STREETS! Why should somebody sitting in an Office decide the identity of a Community they may never live in? Why shouldn’t the Mother who has worked tirelessly to acquire Land have a voice in shaping her Neighbourhood? Why shouldn’t our Residents have the opportunity to honour their Parents, Grandparents, Community Heroes and ordinary Namibians whose contributions have gone unrecognized? WHO SAID ONLY POLITICIANS AND FAMOUS PEOPLE DESERVE TO HAVE STREETS NAMED AFTER THEM? There are Mothers who raised entire Generations through hardship. Fathers who sacrificed everything for their Children. Teachers who educated thousands. Nurses who saved lives. Workers who helped build this Nation. THEIR STORIES DESERVE TO BE REMEMBERED TOO! At the Amushelelo Hosea Kutako Airport Estate, we want to build more than Houses and Roads. WE WANT TO BUILD A COMMUNITY WHERE THE PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE! Residents will participate directly in proposing and selecting Street Names, subject to the applicable approval processes. Imagine one day walking down a Street named in honour of your Mother or Father, knowing that their Legacy will live on for Generations. THAT IS THE KIND OF COMMUNITY WE WANT TO BUILD!
