أَخْفَيْتُ حُبَّكَ عَنْ جَمِيعِ جَوَارِحِي فَوَشَتْ عُيُونِي وَالْوُشَاةُ عُيُونُ وَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّ جَوَانِحِي وَجَوَارِحِي مُقَلٌّ تَرَاكَ وَمَا لَهُنَّ عُيُونُ يَا لَيْتَ قَيْسًا فِي زَمَانِ صَبَابَتِي حَتَّى أُرِيَهِ الْعِشْقَ كَيْفَ يَكُون - يتحدث الشاعر في هذه الأبيات عن حبٍّ عميقٍ أخفاه عن الناس، لكنه انكشف رغم إرادته. في البيت الأول يقول إنه أخفى حبه، لكن عينيه فضحتا هذا الحب لأن النظرات لا يمكن إخفاؤها، وكأن العيون أصبحت “وشاة” تكشف السر. وفي البيت الثاني يتمنى أن تتحول جميع حواسه ومشاعره إلى عيون فقط، حتى لا يبقى في جسده شيء إلا ويرى محبوبه، في دلالة على شدة التعلّق والرغبة في رؤية المحبوب. أما في البيت الثالث فيستحضر الشاعر قصة قيس وليلى، ويتمنى لو أن قيسًا يعيش في زمنه، ليُريه كيف يكون العشق الحقيقي، وكأنه يقول إن ما يشعر به أعمق مما عُرف في قصص الحب القديمة. The poet describes a deep love that he tried to hide from others, but it was unintentionally revealed. In the first verse, he says he concealed his love, yet his eyes betrayed him, as if the eyes themselves became “informants” revealing his secret feelings. In the second verse, he wishes that all his senses and inner feelings could turn into eyes, so that every part of him could see his beloved. This reflects an intense longing and emotional attachment.
