i bought my Montcler in Italy and they didn't have my size but they said they could order it and I picked it up the next day. it was the last one in all of Rome because it was a Rome exclusive design and I liked it. montcler doesn't stock much inventory of the more expensive or less sold items in their stores so most likely all the smaller sizes ran out so that's why she said that. she probably already checked for other customers and they didn't have it at any other store. also some sizes are online only.
