We react, desire, get angry, feel insecure, and seek control. When we stay here, our prayers feel routine and peace feels unstable. With awareness and effort, the heart — the Qalb — begins to open. This is where sincerity grows, worship feels real, and the connection with God becomes personal rather than habitual. As the heart strengthens, the soul rises to the Ruh, the spirit. Here, trust in God deepens. Faith is no longer dependent on emotions or circumstances. There is more patience, calm, and inner stability. At the deepest level is the Sirr, the inner secret. At this stage, remembrance becomes natural, and closeness to God is felt quietly in everyday life, not just in moments of worship. This is what Sufis meant by a hidden map.
