This is like when I had strep the doctor didn’t tell me that I could re give myself strep with my toothbrush. Seems like common sense but it didn’t even occur to me that if I have strep that means I have to get a new toothbrush

I've been crowded contaminating since 1966. 🤔 I also don't have a taste for bread so it's not much of an issue. But, when I explain celiac to people the most I get from guys is: "you can't drink beer? that sucks." While women, of any age, will get serious and say,"I'd unalive myself."

Most doctors do not take nutrition classes, you need a specialist or dietician for that

Also, I was unaware that if you cannot digest gluten.... look at your make up! I had acne for YEARS! couldn't figure it out.... uhhh my make up had wheat byproducts.... Will forever thank my GI for helping me 😂

My doctor was awesome, he immediately sent me to a dietician who explained all of this. Some doctors just suck

My Dr didn’t, but my dietitian did! She was such a life saver. I asked her to help becuase I had gotten no guidance at the drs. Sooooooo many things you wouldn’t think of have gluten.

In the UK they Absolutely tell you about cross contamination. he even booked us in with a nutritionist who gave us a shed load of info. it's so sad you didnt get the same service. like how could they not???

I am SO blessed with the way it worked for me. My hospital sets us up with a dietitian that also has celiac disease. I thought that was the norm. That’s insane. I’m so sorry!

I was very lucky my daughters Dr had us see a dietitian that told us exactly that get a new toaster get new cutting boards a new colander and also pointed out things that wouldn’t seem like they had gluten in it, but did like regular rice crispy treats have gluten in them, but offbrand don’t really emphasized the reading of labels. It was so overwhelming at first but so thankful that we started the journey off on a good foot still hard. I empathize with all of you going through it.
