Is there a reason sleep walking is more common in kids? There were times I slept-walked as a kid, but I don't as an adult.

I used to sleep walk as a child after experiencing something very traumatic. I used to get up and go to every door and every window to make sure they were locked and safe. Then I would stand there starting out of the window. Once I had done that and it was all safe (it was anyway), my Mom said I just went straight back upstairs to bed. I never remembered doing it. I also had terrible nightmares - which I do remember and sometimes, even now, I still have the EXACT same dreams, almost 19 years later. I'm turning 28 this year. I will sleep talk too.. Having whole conversations with whoever comes into my room and talks to me, which I don't even remember because I'm still asleep.

I’m under 13 years old and I was sleeping on the couch(I fell asleep while being on my phone) (this is what dad told me) he called out my name around 2 am and he said I was walking everywhere and tried getting into the fridge and stuff this happened around 6 years old too I was just in the backyard walking

Yep, that autopilot setting.😂Also can happen after an accident. Everything is working according to the people around you but without you actually knowing.

Fell asleep in my dads room once,then in the morning he said I was at the bottom of the stairs,talking about how I couldn't turn on the living room light. then he said I straight up laid down on the stairs and he had to drag me to sleep😂
