@sweet_essence_: Puppy santa butter cookies 🐶🎅🏻✨ Makes 9 puppies 120g salted butter (very soft but not melted!) 2g vanilla extract 60g icing sugar 160g cake flour or all purpose flour 30g egg whites (room temp) 9g cocoa powder 1-2 tsp milk to adjust Chill for 15-20 minutes before baking. Bake at 165c for 20-25 minutes :) Also some tips to getting the perfect shape: The piping tips i used were ateco 864,865 for the puppies and 862 for the santa hats 🐶 For easy piping, make sure your butter is soft and cream it for 1-2 minutes until pale. If the dough is too cold, it’ll be hard to pipe. The dough should resemble mashed potatoes. If the dough is still too stiff while piping, place the piping bag on a bench near the oven or any warm spot in your kitchen for a few minutes to warm the dough slightly before continuing. Chill the dough for at least 15-20 minutes before baking (after piping), until they’re firm to the touch before baking. If they brown too quickly for your liking, cover with foil and continue baking. Happy baking! 🎅🏻🐶 #Recipe #holidaybaking #christmas #tutorial #baking
Hi guys I’ve updated the flour measurements as some were having difficulty with dry dough, finding cornstarch and cake flour.
120g salted butter (very soft but not melted)
2g vanilla extract
60g icing sugar
160g cake flour (OR 150g all-purpose + 10g cornstarch)
30g egg whites (room temp)
9g cocoa powder
1-2 tsp milk to adjust
Chill for 15 minutes before baking.
Bake at 165c for 20-25 minutes :)
If your dough still feels too stiff, your dough is probably too cold. Leave it by the a warm place (near the oven) to warm up slightly.
Don’t forget to chill the piped cookies before baking to get those sharp, defined ridges!
Happy baking 🎅🏻🐶🎄

made some and they turned out so cute 😍 had to add milk to the original dough because mine was quite hard to pipe (probably bc it is very cold where i live) but the recipe is very forgiving and beginner friendly
