As a chef I’d say yes you can make it cheaper yourself however it’s Christmas and there’s enough to do so I’d say buy it. But a 2/10 I feel can buy a better one somewhere else

I haven't bought my Yule log yet so I'm waiting until next week. I was going to buy the regular Asda one. I might get a different brand now.

So I agree with you that you could make this considerably cheaper than £13.38 but for me personally, there are times when buying just makes life easier especially with everything else we are doing at christmas. That said, whilst it looks nice when you cut it, I would have hoped that they would have added much more cherry jam, cream and maybe liqueur. Thanks for the review, I'm hoping Iceland will do its Christmas Black Forest Gateau as it did last year.
