Not wax - usually cellulose powder made from plant fibers or some starch (potato etc) - generally used as an anti-caking agent. Can be removed with a warm rinse if you wish.

It has powdered cellulose to prevent it from sticking back together. It is NOT WAX. It is a natural product. It does make it melt poorly.
