How do I encourage my students to to not use it as a replacement for individual thought? They copy and paste a whole text and the writing prompt they were assigned into AI and then just steal its answer… when I have them write on demand, on paper and then show them the difference they still don’t get it…and administration wants them on the computer all the time

The models are trained on internet data and it’s going to accelerate AI slop. It’s like taking a picture of a picture of a picture. it’s not creating anything new. It’s just regurgitating an idea that’s already been thought of BY other people.
