@theultrasoundlady: On a mammogram, there are four types of asymmetries radiologists look for. 1.Asymmetry is tissue seen on one view but not the other and is often normal. 2.Global asymmetry means a larger area of tissue on one side compared to the other, usually a normal variant. 3.Focal asymmetry appears on two views and may need additional imaging. 4.Developing asymmetry is new or increasing compared to prior exams and is the most concerning, often requiring further workup. Not all asymmetries mean cancer, but they help guide what happens next.”
