@missclairebenjamin: How to Handle the colleague who’s a bit shady… Shady behaviour can be quite subtle and difficult to call out. Like the example shown in this video. You may sense the way the person is behaving is a bit disingenuous but without context it could look completely innocent. Your automatic reaction may be to deal with it head on. I would recommend you take a step back and approach it in a way that is most likely to allow you to influence the situation. This requires 3 key skills: 1️⃣ The ability to regulate your emotions in real time 2️⃣ The ability to clearly articulate what you’re seeing and experiencing BUT without playing into power dynamics 3️⃣ The ability to influence the person to rethink how they behave around you specifically If there is someone in your organisation you can flag this too and who can support you to navigate it I would also recommend doing this. 💬 What advice would you offer to someone navigating a situation like this? 📌 Please remember the advice offered in this video is generalised and will not fit every situation.
