@curtisagardner: Flat rate is brutal. And working harder hasn’t fixed it. If you don’t understand where your hours are coming from, flat rate will always feel broken. Most techs don’t have an effort problem. They have a clarity problem. In Understanding where the hours come from, what they mean and how to build value in them. If flat rate feels confusing or you’re unsure where your value really is, I’ve built tools to help make sense of it. Link’s in my bio when you’re ready. #1percentbettereveryday #FlatRateLife #technicianmindset
You can’t outwork a scam system. Being a tech is a 100% scam.

It’s not for everyone. You have to be a very talented individual. I did it for a while. It was very inconsistent for me.

You must be CONSTANTLY EVALUATING AND EVOLVING YOURSELF TO THE SYSTEM, NOT TRYING TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM TO FIT YOUR NEEDS!! Unfortunately ALOT of it is a mentality problem, rumination is a terrible problem in the shop, especially when you go hone and drink about it

yeah they lack clarity cause they still work for greedy sobs that pay flatrate and keep listening to others that advocate for it. work smarter. work flatrate if you want too, because it benefits you too.. not because its the only pay plan they offer. don't work for them. simple

remove free warranty work and then see what you actually make . The more you make the more warranty work you get so they can bring you down .

Agree 100% I need to track my hours better cause this time of year I feel I put in more effort and more hours yet make less hours in the end rather than mid summer seems like I hardly try and can make the same.

Product knowledge helps also you have to know how each system works if you don’t then your usually just wasting time and guessing at most diagnosis but it all comes with time don’t expect six figures your first year
