I think there's a big misunderstanding with mental illness as it's usually only seen as "schizo" or "psycho" and people don't realise that jus bcuz we suffer doesn't mean we aren't normal 😭

People often can't or won't differentiate between the illness and the person and I think that this is where a lot of the stigma comes from.

This is so true visiting my daughter in the hospital. All the mental health patients were the absolute best people I’ve ever met and they were so nice to her as well.

That is very true for the most part ! But sometimes the people they love the most get the brunt of the storm ! For the ones whom have a storm some do some do not ! So not speaking for everyone.

So I was an online advocate for 5 years. It cost me a lot of people, and created other problems for me. I totally agree that the stigma needs to go. I just personally can’t do advocacy.

I think its because of media depictions and also partly due to gaslighting in the sense that because some people's mental illness is the result of trauma and abuse some people call them 'crazy' to take away from the fact that they may have caused their trauma
