Yessss!!! My husband and I talk about this. Although a beautiful new vehicle would be nice, we LOVE not having car payments. We’ve always viewed vehicles as a liability, not an asset.

And when you retire debt free and still have nothing over the bare minimum you can enjoy all your money sitting somewhere as numbers on a screen. With nothing to look forward to. Or memories made. Because all the “luxuries” in life cost money. Money you refuse to spend. So you will die. With lots of money. And a lifetime of freedom from debt. And nothing to show for it. Other than well at least I paid cash. And lived like I was poor my whole life.

Oh I'm the same way. I will never finance a vehicle. Cash only and keep them until the wheels fall off. I rather own assets or have my money work for me.
