My MIL was upset that my husband got a vasectomy and said “what if H has a different wife and wants more kids?” She has passed but I still feel a certain way. She also asked my husband what I brought to the relationship, even though I worked, carried the benefits, did all night wake ups for the baby at the time, etc.

How long have you been married?! No, no, leave! When he said, “I do” to YOU, he made an oath that he would love, protect, and honor YOU. Not his mom or other family. The saying I feel is true, roughly, “When you get married, you also marry the family” if they didn’t like you while dating, they never will and he’s not standing up for YOU. I remember my first BF in high school, his mom acted like this when we were 15… she often would tell me I stole him, that I ruined his baseball future even when he stopped playing before we started dating. He preferred hanging out with my dad after school than being at his house. She would try to set him up randomly in front of me like “oh isn’t the waitress so pretty and nice??” We broke up in college but when my dad passed when we were 23, years later.. he came to say goodbye at hospice, she somehow heard he had passed and texted me saying “heard your dad died, do not contact my son” evil evil lady
