Africa is just one big, Black country in everyone's mind. Yet, irony is, Africa is the most diverse continent on the planet when it comes to the human population. Its frustrating that racialization has forced people into this simplistic worldview.

I’m Egyptian and the people in Alexandria/Delta egypt were literally MURDERED AND THEIR IDENTITY RACE ALMOST WIPED OUT. Upper Egypt is the only reason why they still have their own roots but erased a lot of their culture, history, knowledge, etc.

Voodoo, Vodou, and Hoodoo are very different and come from different places and times. What people usually call “voodoo” in the U.S. comes from Louisiana, developed by enslaved Africans and influenced by the Vodou religion. Hoodoo developed in the U.S. too, but it’s not a religion. It mixes African spiritual traditions, Native American practices, and Christianity. Hoodoo doesn’t have gods it’s more about practice and rootwork,while Voodoo and Vodou are religions with their own spirits. Hoodoo wasn’t practiced in Africa. Vodou started in West Africa and was later developed more fully in Haiti.
