And then settlers in Seattle forcibly removed Duwamish people from their land into this valley.

My tribes biggest settlement was right there at 8th st bridge. Too bad they can’t rename that bridge to honor our people

your point about the rivers lifting themselves up on sediment beds is very apparent where I live. just streams, but the state road runs at the base of the mountain and undulates up and down. The streams cross the road at the top of each rise, not the bottom. seems counter intuitive without stepping back. the top of each rise is the center point of a series of alluvial fans, which is at the center bottom of that stream's drainage basin on the mountain. which also means, the stream has been at every point of the 180 degree fan at some point. it's the humans that try to keep it in one spot

I can not believe this doesn’t have more views than it did this morning when I saw it! This had to have been one of the most informative videos I’ve seen on all this flooding yet.

I live here downtown, and I'm super creeped by the fact that we are pretty much surrounded by flooding, is the water going to make it down my street. ugh, I wish it would stop raining

theres a large long concrete barrier in the game farm that permanently diverted the white river south to the Puyallup.

The Black river did not highlight true fairness and failed to address systemic gaps, so that every river had an equal chance to compete, thus it was renamed the Green river to bring us all closer to Ecotopia.
