@aleksabreeze: Your city/county assigns them based on how your business operates. So before you ask what permits do I need, you need answers to these 4 things: 1️⃣ What’s your menu? Hot food vs baked goods? Potentially hazardous vs non-hazardous? Cooked fresh vs prepped elsewhere? 👉 Your menu determines food safety requirements. 2️⃣ What’s your setup? Home kitchen, food truck, trailer, cart, tent, or pop-up table What equipment are you using? Is food is cooked on site? 👉 Setup dictates what type of license you even qualify for. 3️⃣ What’s your location / business model? Events only? Pop-ups? Permanent location? Food truck moving city to city? 👉 Different models = different rules and permits. 4️⃣ Why permits exist in the first place: Cities don’t create custom permits for your idea. They offer specific categories for health, zoning, and safety. Your job is to fit into their options — not the other way around. Figure out what permits ARE offered and what fits best for your plans.
