Robert DeNiro must have seen that she had some talent and that she could go deeper. She was a kid so it makes sense that she didn’t realize what acting is all about. Certainly it’s not her fault. I saw “Alice.” I remember there was a kid in it, but I didn’t remember that it was Jodie. I saw some of her earlier movies. And her TV commercials.

Jodi Foster is amazing. The fact that she was 12 and had that kind of epiphany that lead her to be an even better actor . . . We should all strive to that level of self and social awareness. Side note: She was 12 and a man (John Hinkley) became so obsessed with her after this movie (Taxi Driver) that he shot the US president 5 years later . . .
